9/16/2023 0 Comments Boat rentals deep creek lake md![]() Next time I rent ANYTHING, I will take pictures with my I-Phone. Really? $300? It looked like something you could Super Glue, but the Mgrs were talking about having it welded. They charged me $300.00 for a 2" long piece of metal, and I was driving so slow all day long!! We had the bumpers out when we docked at Dutch's, I have no idea how this could happen and suspect it was like this before we took off in the AM. When we returned, the check-in dude said that a little piece of metal was loose on the pontoon and I had to pay for that damage. ![]() Slowly being the key word here!! We had one stop, at Dutch's Daughter for lunch, and then back to the Marina. This was a one time outing, my Mom wanted to go slowly around the Lake looking at the beautiful architecture of the homes. Anyway, our Pontoon Boat was $400+ for the day - which blew my mind. You'd think you were adopting a child with a amount of paperwork. Well, I got there around 9:30 and there was no one else there renting a boat, and it took forever. Pleasant employees but maybe need a few more. Pros: beautiful scenery and a perfect dayĬons: $400/day for boat was a bit steep but I'm guessing that's the going rate. There was 4 of us and I think we would've been more comfortable on a pontoon rather than the speedboat. We rented a speed boat that was very touchy and next time we'll go with the pontoon. Will definitely boat again but may check out some of the other rental places in the area. The young man who went over our boat at the end was pleasant and nice and seemed like the only person we talked to that knew what he was doing. Nobody told us until the very end that you can only buy gas at the Marina but it's about 2 minutes before you get back to the marina - not the gas station which appears at the marina - that's Bill's something or other. ![]() We asked him a few questions but he didn't know the answer so he kept asking another guy who was trying to help other people. Another gentleman brought our tube over and tied it to the boat. Never came back to finish going over the boat. He started to go over the boat with us and then left to get our tube. The older gentleman seemed frazzled - maybe some call offs? But def need more people working. It was at least another 20 minutes before we got to our actual boat. Once we got to the dock there were maybe 3 more people working to get people to their boats, go over stuff etc and so on. Super pleasant and informative employees but it was still at least a half hour before we got to the area to get our boat. 3 people in front of us, 2 lines, 3 people working the front desk. You would think that being they do this every day all season long that this would be a well oiled machine. We did our paperwork and video the day before so all we had to do was check in. So I definitely recommend boating/tubing on Deep Creek Lake just maybe not from this marina. Its all about safety and being careful.Īlso, this week is a slow week for the marina, so my experience can not be compared to the heat of the summer when the lake is busy and this group has 40+ boats out on a daily basis. Given that I have driven boats in the past, I did take some time a watch the multiple videos and read the info on Maryland boating laws. ![]() Especially if you are towing someone, you want the best visibility possible! Getting the boys off and on the back with the ladder is so easy and safe. Speed boats are fun, but from a driving position you are often forced to stand to be able to have a clear view of the water and surrounding areas. From a driving and comfort position, they are unbeatable. Big selection of boats and a choice of a pontoon was spot on. I did look at many reviews of other boat companies and did ask my VRBO rental agent and given my location, we went with this group. The Gas station is very close to the Marina in the north end of the lake. You should always ask, how big is the tank. In three days, a good 4-5 hours a day of full speed pulling, we used about a full tank. Just a tip, these have a big gas tank, ~ 60 gallons and gas is 4.50 a gallon, so it does add up. ![]() Equipment was in excellent condition and I gave it back in excellent condition. Just rented a 150HP Pontoon boat, big beautiful boat with great HP to be able to pull 4 young boys for 3 days. ![]()
